Our biggest news yet! NASA just announced its newest selection of Commercial Space Partnerships for Collaborative Partnerships and Final Frontier Design is among the four.
As of Dec 23, 2014, we have an official Space Act Agreement with NASA. A very proud day for FFD to receive this honor and privilege. Congratulation to our fellow partners: ATK Space Systems, SpaceX, and the United Launch Alliance.
Florida Institute of Technology
The Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) owns FFD's 7th Launch and Re-Entry space suit an is utilizing it for human centered design research in their Human Centered Design Institute.
In partnership with Integrated Spaceflight Services, FFD has worked with Survival Systems in Groton, CT to evaluate space suit performance in the water. Survival Systems owns and operates complex water egress testing facilities for civilian and military training.
FFD has partnered with Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) to specifically analyze and quantify the upper body range of motion of our space suits. Utilizing ERAUs "SUIT" lab motion tracking equipment, multiple test subjects have completed range of motion testing at their Daytona, Florida campus.
Integrated Spaceflight Services
FFD has partnered with Integrated Spaceflight Services (ISS) for 5 years, resulting in hundreds of hours of suit testing with hundreds of test subjects. Through their Project Possum programs, students and researchers can wear FFD suits while in high fidelity suborbital flight simulators, in microgravity flight, or in water egress and rescue training.
National Research Council of Canada
In partnership with Integrated Spaceflight Services, FFD has worked with the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) since 2016, utilizing their heavily modified Falcon 20 aircraft to evaluate space suits in a microgravity environment.
Zero 2 Infinity
Zero 2 Infinity (Z2I) from Barcelona, Spain, owns FFD's 4th Launch and Re-Entry space suit. Z2I operates a fleet of high altitude balloons and capsules and intends to offer human high altitude flight over Europe utilizing FFD's suits for safety.
