Frontier Prime Suit (2010)

The Frontier Prime is an IVA pressure safety garment intended to operate at 4 psi.  Its total weight is 13.4 pounds (6.5Kg) and is made adjustable to fit a person between 5'5"-6'1".  The internal gas bladder is made from a polyurethane coated nylon fabric, and all seams
of the bladder are heat sealed.  The external restraint portion is made from polyester and has sewn seams.  It is a front entry suit with wrist and neck disconnects, with a large field of vision visor.
The major differences between the Frontier Prime and the NAM suit are:
-gas bladder is made from heat sealed fabric in the F.P., while the NAM suit uses glued, rubberized nylon
-the convolute joints have been improved, with gathered webbing for improved torque
-there is a new thigh/hip joint to allow greater flexion/extension in this area
-the flat patterns have been improved and adapted to the new bladder material
-an original design for the wrist disconnects, a simple, light weight 3-motion lock
-we have developed 2 prototype gloves for the suit, the right with a preliminary metacarpal joint and a two layer construction and the left with a single layer heat sealed construction, both with 2-degree of freedom (flex/ex, ad/ab) wrist joints.
-new helmet visor shape
